TAILGATE MARKET MAKES ITS DEBUT IN FLAT ROCK!

More than 15 vendors selling items ranging from herbs and vegetables to freshly baked breads and seafood were part of the opening of the Flat Rock Tailgate market. The market, which is open to the public, is located on Greenville highway behind Funky Bungalow and Silk Road interiors just south of the Flat Rock Playhouse.

The brainchild of Flat Rock residents Molly & David Voorhees, the idea for an open-air market in their community was inspired by the couple’s trip to France last May. “There were markets all over the place—some took up whole village squares,” Voorhees said.

Thursday’s tailgate market opened featuring a mix of items from regional organic and non-organic farmers, Voorhees said, adding that an all-organic tailgate market is the ultimate goal.
